Types of Carpet:

Note: Loop pile carpeting typically isn’t ideal for homes with pets, as claws can snag on the loop fibers.

3.Cut–loop pile – This carpet style combines cut and looped yarns just like the name is. This choice is a great practical choice for busy households and suitable for various rooms in the home. Additionally, the combined texture of cut-loop pile enhances its resilience, making it a smart choice for both casual and formal settings where foot traffic varies throughout the day.

a. Nylon- Nylon is almost as durable as wool in terms of performance and feel, but generally at a lower cost. Nylon fiber offers a wide variety of styles and type, including frieze, textured, shag, and loop cut loop. Nylon carpets exhibit excellent soil resistance, colorfastness, and resilience, allowing them to bounce back and maintain their appearance. Ultimately nylon, making it a favored option for families with children and pets.

b. Polyester- Man-made fiber just another option. Mostly stain-resistant and available in a wide range of prints, patterns and textures. Very budget-friendly but I polyester is not as durable as nylon carpet.

c. Wool- Typically comes at a higher price point, there are many advantages to this natural fiber that make it an ideal fit for many. Wool is a luxurious, soft and beautiful carpet choice. d. Polypropylene- Polypropylene is a water and stain- resistant material known as Olefin which is great for mostly outdoor carpeting but much less resilient than nylon.

It is like a shock absorber on your car it must be a right match to your carpet. A pad of ⅜-inches and 8 IBS density or less is used with a low-pile carpet such as a woven carpet or tufted pattern. A thicker ½ inch and 8 IBS density is ideal for most cut-pile carpet.
